Nigerian man from Kwara state wins 1st position at World Quranic recitation competition

It is no longer news that Nigerians excel at almost every competition we enter. Our intelligence, collective character and other details often stand us out from other nations.

This is evident in the exploits of one Sadeeq Alabi from Kwara state. According to Al-Hafiz Nafiu Usman who wrote on Twitter, Sadeeq beat out contestants from other countries in a just concluded International Qur'anic Recitation Competition that took place in Jordan.

“Congratulations to Sadeeq Alabi From Kwara State who Became 1st Position in just concluded International Qur'anic Recitation Competition held at Jordan. Congratulations Nigeria.”

This is coming after Goni Tijjani Goni Muhammad Dan Baba from Yobe state emerged as second runner-up in a Quranic competition that recently took place in Iran.

That competition required the contestants to recite several chapters of the holy book from memory. The Holy Qu'ran contains 114 chapters with over 6,000 verses. According to research, it will take and average speed reader 15 hours to read the entire holy book.
