What kind of dress did Meghan have?

Everyone was looking forward to the dress in which Meghan appeared at the altar. She preferred the outfit of the Parisian fashion house Givenchy.

The British designer Clare Waite Keller created the dress. She is a creative director of Givenchy and the first woman in this position.

Kensington Palace informed that Miss Markle and Miss Waite Keller created the design together. The dress is a sample of the timeless and minimalistic elegance. It’s a characteristic feature of the Givenchy House. The wedding gown is an example of craftsmanship made by world-famous Paris fashion house, founded in 1952.

The bride reduced the number of jewelry to a minimum. The wedding dress was supplemented only by diamond stud earrings, a bracelet by Cartier and a tiara from the royal collection of 1932.

It’s interesting to know that lace flowers on the veil symbolized each of the countries in the British Commonwealth.

What was the highlight of the ceremony?

There were many bright moments, but if we talk about the most memorable episode both for the guests and audience, it was undoubtedly the speech of the American bishop.

The Bishop Michael Curry

The Bishop of the US Episcopal Church, Michael Curry from Chicago, was invited by the bride and Prince Harry. One part of the present people described his preaching as "fiery." At the same time, some guests could not help laughing. The others sat with surprised facial expressions.

His 13-minute sermon will be remembered for a long time by the guests and spectators of the ceremony. And the appeal to the bride and groom about the power of love and fire energy, which he also read with iPad, definitely shocked the audience.

Curry gesticulated emotionally, turned in different directions, shouted, and rotated his eyes. The British Queen, Elizabeth II, reacted to Curry curiously.

In his parting words, Curry quoted Martin Luther King. "We must discover in ourselves the redeeming power of love, and when that happens, a new world will come," he literally shouted to the entire chapel.

The end of his speech the guests met with a storm of applause.

When the cameras followed the princes William and Harry and moved to the church of St. George, the groom's face the face was noticeably agitated. William, the best man, on the contrary, looked quite relaxed.

In our opinion, the most touching was the mother of the bride, Doria Ragland. When she occupied her place in the chapel, she could not hold back tears until the very end of the ceremony.

And Meghan was continually smiling on the way to the altar. When she met with Harry, the prince seemed to relax.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, smiled like many other guests, although she looked somewhat tired. But it was understandable. Less than a month ago she gave birth to a third child.

Gospel choir

Many guests enthusiastically embraced the gospel choir. It sang after the bishop's farewell, although its appearance at such a ceremony was indeed very unusual.

The wedding cake was the main delicacy of the ceremony. It was served at the very end of the reception. After the menu announcement, its official photos appeared.

The cake was backed by the confectioner Claire Ptak. She is the chief of the confectionery Violet Bakery, located in London's East End. It consisted of biscuit cakes impregnated with lemon and elderberry syrup, protein, and buttercream with Swiss meringue.

Wedding cake preparation

We should note that the elderberry for syrup grew in the royal garden of the Sandringham residence. Besides, the biscuit recipe was developed specially for the newlyweds. The cake was decorated with peonies and roses.

From the bride’s family, we could see only Meghan’s mother at the ceremony. Her father, 73-year-old American operator Thomas Markle didn’t come to the daughter's wedding. Her father-in-law, the 69-year-old Prince Charles led her to the altar.

According to some information, Thomas Markle didn’t arrive because of a heart operation. As per other sources, he was offended by accusations of trying to earn on his daughter's wedding.

In media, it was reported that Harry's father and his wife, the 70-year-old Duchess of Cornwall were allegedly against the marriage. Camilla believed that the little-known actress "wrapped" Harry for fame and career.

As for the British tabloids, it was initially difficult to accept the grandson’s bride for the 92-year-old Queen Elizabeth too.

Most likely Meghan's refusal from the career of an actress and transition to the Anglican Church was the decisive factors for the queen. However, it could not be otherwise, as the monarchic canons demand.

At the ceremony, everyone caught every look of the queen, trying to understand how she relates to the marriage of her grandson. Elizabeth, as always, was reserved but smiled a couple of times. It was a good sign.

People on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wedding

The British people have different attitudes about the wedding. Some rejoice, others see no reason to keep the royal family on their taxes. But in general, there was a sense of celebration throughout the country. Most people like Meghan Markle as she is open and friendly.

A lot of people liked that the prince married a modern girl from a simple family. He didn’t choose any representative of ‘blue blood.’ In their opinion, it will update the monarchy.

The public will speak and write about this wedding for a long time. We, in turn, wish happiness to the newlyweds.
