Legit.ng however notes that the statement was not signed by the party’s national legal adviser, Muiz Banire, who recently criticized the APC leadership.

Banire’s failure to sign the statement reportedly shows cracks in his relationship with Oyegun.

The party leadership stated that it took the decision in order to give all state chapters the opportunity to participate, and to allow for peace.

The party will now conduct new its ward congress in the state on Saturday, May 19, from 10am to 1pm.

The local government congress has been fixed for Sunday, May 20, while the state congress will hold on Monday, May 21.

This development follows a previous report by Legit.ng that the national legal adviser of the All Progressives Congress, Muiz Banire, said that the party leadership is not only impotent but also lacks disciplines.

Banire alleged that some people are treated as being bigger than the party, adding that there would not be peace unless the party obeys the rule of law. He further affirmed that the party is in distress and needs urgent rescue.
