Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is unsure if Romelu Lukaku will be fit for this weekend’s FA Cup final on Saturday.

The Belgian has not featured for the Red Devils in the last three games following the ankle injury he suffered during his side’s 2-1 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Though, the 25-year-old has been included in the squad to face Chelsea at Wembley this weekend, the Portuguese manager has insisted that he is not certain forward will be fit enough to start the game.

According to the Sun, Mourinho said: “Martial is fit and Lukaku we have to wait until the last moment.

I don't want to lie to you and say he doesn't play and then plays, so Lukaku we have to wait.

The former Everton forward has scored 27 goals in all competitions since he moved to Old Trafford from last summer - and is also key to the way Mourinho likes to set up his side.

However, both teams have equal chance to win a title this season, having missed out of all other silverwares, including the UEFA Champions League.

But Jose Mourinho claims the outcome of the game will not determine the success of his side’s campaign this term.

Mourinho added: "People can do what they want, the same applies to yourself, you can analyse the way you want to analyse and I can analyse the way I want, so everyone is free to go in the direction you want to go.

"Of course it makes a difference, but one thing is to make a difference and to consider good or bad because of one match.

"When I analyse the work I did and the effort I put and everything we all did in the club, and that includes the most important persons in the club which are the players, I’m not going to analyse them because of one very important match.

"But I know the effort, the negative things and I’m not going to change my analysis of the season because of one match, not at all."

The 25-year-old has scored 16 Premier League goals in 34 matches for the Red Devils, while his tally for this season stands as 26 in all competitions.

Lukaku joined Manchester United last summer in a €84.7 million deal from Everton. earlier reported that Jose Mourinho claims Romelu Lukaku could miss the Cup final against Chelsea.

Lukaku picked up an injury in their 2-1 win against Arsenal and he was replaced by Marcus Rashford.

Mourinho stated that United are yet to know the extent of damage and the striker will be assessed by doctors.
