- Manchester City have concluded plan to offer a mega deal for Chelsea winger Eden Hazard
- The 27-year-old's contract with the Stamford Bridge expires next two summer
- Meanwhile, the Blues effort to get the Belgian to extend his stay with the club has been unproductive
Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly planning to make a shocking move for Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard this summer.
The 27-yearold has refused to extend his contract with the Blues having being tipped to join Real Masrid next season.
His current deal with the Stamford Bridge outfit expires in the summer of 2020, and all efforts to get the Belgian to pen a new contract with the club has been unproductive.
Meanwhile, with Chelsea unable to qualify for Champions League next term after finishing fifth on the EPL table, Antonio Conte is expected to be sacked, the Belgian forward might be considering a move away from the club.
However, City boss Pep Guardiola is said to have been watching Hazard's situation, and will be jumping in the race to rival Real Madrid for his signature.
The Citizens have been long-term admirers of his, and would not hesitate to make a £100m-plus bid, while they will also willing to pay his £300,000-a-week wage demands.
Guardiola earlier said according to the Sun that he would not splash the cash during the window, unless a suitable superstar became available.
And it is thought Hazard would fit the bill, having been keen on him dating back to his Bayern Munich days.
The Sun quoting an Etihad source said: “The club would be at the front of the queue if Hazard becomes available this summer.
“The boss has long considered him a crack player. He has already told the board how much he admires him.
“The club have been keeping a watchful eye. They know his value will drop if his deal continues to run down.
“Pep is refusing to spend money for the sake of it. He only wants a player who can take the squad to the next level.
“Hazard is in his prime and requires no introduction to the rigours of the Premier League.”
Guardiola is planning to use the influence of Belgian team-mates Kevin De Bruyne and Vincent Kompany to lure the Chelsea attacker.
The Spaniard is said to be interested in strengthening his attack ahead of the coming league season, with Napoli ace Jorginho a priority. He wants a holding midfielder and wide attacker, two positions he failed to improve in January.
City missed out on signing Alexis Sanchez, and was also interested in Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez.
The Algerian is still on his shortlist along with Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Leon Bailey, but Hazard would be his top priority.
The Belgian attacker joined Chelsea from Lille 2012 after spending five seasons at the French League side.
He scored 36 goals in 147 matches in his five year reign at the club.
Hazard has spent six years at the Stamford Bridge with well over 200 Premier League games - scoring 69 goals in the process.
The Belgium international has won two EPL titles, one Europa League and one EFL Cup with the Blues, while at Lille, he won the French League and French Cup titles.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea's Eden Hazard denied being linked with a move linking him with summer transfer move to Manchester United.
Hazard has not been impressive this season for the Blues in their fight to defend their Premier League title which they have lost to Manchester City.
But despite that, he has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with Real Madrid and Manchester United said to be interested.
