Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has reportedly informed Barca chiefs to sell Portugal international Andre Gomes this summer.

The 24-year-old joined the Catalan club from Valencia in a €35 million deal in the summer of 2016, but has failed to impress the manager at the Camp Nou.

However, according to Daily Star quoting Don Balon, the Argentine star wants the 2016 UEFA European Championship winner gone.

Meanwhile, Serie A giants Juventus are said to be monitoring the midfielder’s situation as they are considering signing him.

But, they will have to contend with Napoli, who are in pole position to sign the Portuguese star as they look to bolster their ranks.

Gomes has scored just three goals in 44 Spanish League appearances for the Bluagrana in the last two seasons.

The La Liga champions have been superb all season long – losing just one league game this season, but Ernesto Valverde is still expected to shuffle his squad in the coming weeks.

Barca’s unbeaten run came to a rude shock when they got beaten 5-4 by Levante on Sunday, May 13 in their penultimate match of the season.

Despite a Philippe Coutinho hat-trick and Luis Suarez penalty, the Granotas held on to claim a famous victory.

Gomes got his senior career started at Benfica in 2012, and in 2014, he joined Valencia on loan before making the deal permanent a season after.

After helping his side win the 2016 UEFA Championship in France, he joined Barcelona but his reign at the Camp Nou hasn’t really been fruitful for the 24-year-old.
