Senator Shehu Sani mocks Segun Oni over threat to dump APC

Senator Shehu Sani has reacted mockingly to the threat by Segun Oni to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he is not treated with respect.

Oni, who was the first runner-up in the Saturday, May 12, APC primary in Ekiti state made the statement on the grounds that his supporters were receiving threats from the camp of Kayode Fayemi, who won the election.

Reacting to the feud, Sani representing Kaduna central in the National Assembly in a tweet on Wednesday, May 16, recalled that Oni months ago mediated in peace efforts on behalf of the APC in Kaduna.

He suggested that for Oni to be complaining about victimization and injustice against him in his state was a case of fire in the fire man’s house.

Meanwhile, the national chairman of Nigeria Intervention Movement (NIM), Abdul Jhalil Tafawa Balewa, on Tuesday, May 15, said efforts are in the offing, alongside other eight political parties to wrestle power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) led federal government in 2019.

Nigerian Tribune reports that Balewa, who disclosed this in Abuja after his meeting with eight political parties and other stakeholders, said the movement is set to work out a grand coalition for an election alliance that would bring fresh breed into governance in 2019.

Legit.ng gathered that among the representatives of the parties at the meeting include Labour Party (LP); Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN); Action Democratic Party (ADP); Social Democratic Party (SDP); Action Alliance (AA); KOWA Party; as well as Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) and United Progressive Party of Nigeria (UPPN).
