The PDP chairman in the state, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase, told newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Friday that the decision to pick Ogunsakin, a young banker, was reached after consultations with stakeholders.
He added that: “The choice of the 39-year-old economist and banker was informed by the need to involve the younger generation in governance of the state in line with global trend.
“It is also our belief that Ado Ekiti, being the state capital with the largest voting population, deserves consideration for deputy governorship position.
“It was also to give the Muslim community in the state a sense of belonging.”
