- Sergi Roberto has been suspended for the rest of the season
- The Barcelona defender was red carded in El Clasico last Sunday
- Enersto Valverde's side are aiming to end the season unbeaten
Barcelona defender Sergi Roberto will miss the rest of the season after being banned for four matches following his red card in El Clasico.
The right full-back appeared to have slapped Real Madrid defender Marcelo in the face moments to the end of the first half.
The offence was spotted by the referee as he brandished a red card giving the Spanish international his marching orders.
And reports in Spain said La Liga's disciplinary committee has given the 26-year-old a four-match ban for the incident.
The Catalans were held to a 2-2 draw by Los Blancos with Gareth Bale scoring a late equaliser for the visitors.
Roberto can get some rest before the World Cup in Russia this summer that is if he makes Julen Lopetegui's final 23-man squad.
The Barcelona academy graduate was left out of the squad for recent friendlies against Argentina and Germany with Lopetegui preferring Dani Carvajal and Cesar Azpilicueta.
However because La Blaugrana do not have any more trophies to compete for his season is over.
Enersto Valverde's side managed to fight on without their full back as Lionel Messi put them in front in the second half.
Then Bale's superb strike from outside the box made both sides share the points but the Barca maintained their unbeaten record as they go for an invincible season.
With the result Barcelona continued their unbeaten run in La Liga and maintained a 15-point gap from their fiercest rivals.
It will be the first time in the modern era for a team to go all season without a loss should the Catalans end their campaign without a stain.
