Arsenal are currently attempting to sign Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno in the summer.

The German publication claims Leno is available for £22m (€25m) owing to a release clause in his contract.

Serie A club, Napoli, have also been linked with the shot-stopper but are out of the race after talks with Leno’s representatives hit the rocks.

Agent Uli Ferber said: “I can confirm there were negotiations with Napoli, but we stopped them.

“Napoli are not an option.”

According to Ferber: "There are other options" on the table, and he added: “We'll sit down after the season.

“Bernd's full focus is now on the Hannover game, and that Leverkusen make it to the Champions League.”

Should the deal pull through, one of Petre Cech or David Ospina, would have to make way for the arrival of the German shot-stopper.

The 26-year-old who has won six international caps for Germany is under contract until 2020.

Leno joined Leverkusen from Stuttgart in 2011 and has made 303 appearances for the club.

He has conceded 47 goals in 37 games this term keeping 12 clean sheets in the Bundesliga this season.

The vastly experienced goalkeeper could make the last slot in the goalkeeping department in Joachim Leow's final 23-man squad to Russia.

With Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer still recovering from injury and Barcelona's Andre Marc ter Stegen is currently the number one, Leno's chances are big.
