- But he warned that Antoine Griezmann will have to fight for his place at Barcelona
Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has hinted that Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann will be joining the Catalan giants at the end of the ongoing football League season in Europe.
But the former Liverpool star warned the Frenchman that he is not going to replace him next season at the Nou Camp.
Griezmann's buyout clause will halve on July 1 to £88 million and it is claimed Barcelona have already agreed a deal to sign him.
"It makes the club proud to bring players of this quality like Antoine, like Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho.
"He's a player who brings a huge amount, he has a lot of years playing at the highest level, always fighting. He rules up front for Atletico and that is fundamental.
"He is not coming to take the place of anyone, but with the ambition of winning important things. He will be welcomed." Luis Suarez told told Radio Rincon according to UK Sun.
Meanwhile, Antoine Griezmann will now hope to win the Europa League title this season with Atletico Madrid before his imminent move to Barcelona.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Diego Costa scored the only goal that powered Atletico Madrid into the final of this year's Europa League championship.
The Spaniard scored his side's lone goal in the 45th minute after receiving a clean pass from Antoine Griezmann before clinically putting the ball behind Ospina just before the end of the first half.
Both sides played 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium a week ago and needed at least a goalless draw to pull through, but they got more than a draw to seal their qualification.
