Arsenal crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday, May 3, after losing 2-1 on aggregate to Spanish League side, Atletico Madrid.
Diego Costa scored the only goal that handed the La Liga side victory in the second leg of their Europa League semifinal clash at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano yesterday night.
Both sides played 1-1 draw in the first leg of the encounter at the Emirates Stadium with Alexandre Lacazette and Antoine Griezmann scoring for either side.
Meanwhile, while the Gunners were being sloppy in their slim defeat to Diego Simeone’s side on the night, an Arsenal fan was caught having a deep sleep somewhere in the stadium.
The fan was recorded by a fellow Gunners supporter at the Wanda Metropolitano snoring his head off, in footage obtained by talkSPORT.
Arsene Wenger’s side did not only crash out of the tournament, they also lost Laurent Koscielny to Achilles injury earlier in the game.
The Frenchman might join the long list of stars that will miss this year’s FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer, while the Gunners manager, Wenger will end his 22-year reign at club without a farewell trophy.
They will also not be featuring in any UEFA organized championship next season as they are currently sixth on the EPL table.
