Atletico Madrid gaffer, Diego Simeone, was caught on camera wildly celebrating his team's progression to the Europa League final as they edge past Arsenal at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

The Atleti boss was banned from the touchline for the semi-final second leg against Arsenal on Thursday night May 3 but his players still managed to progress thanks to a 2-1 aggregate victory.

Simeone, has now led Atletico to a fourth major European final during his tenure and was filmed by girlfriend Carla Pereyra waving a scarf around his head in front of delighted supporters.

The Argentine gaffer then posed for a celebratory family picture with Carla and one-year-old daughter Francesca at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Simeone’s long-term number two German Burgos was charged with leading the operation from the touchline and did so successfully.

Diego Costa scored the only goal of the second leg just before half-time to give Atletico a 2-1 aggregate win over their Premier League opponents.

The La Liga giants will now go on to face Marseille in the final in Lyon on May 16.

The Spaniard scored his side's lone goal in the 45th minute after receiving a clean pass from Antoine Griezmann before clinically putting the ball behind Ospina just before the end of the first half.

Both sides played 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium a week ago and needed at least a goalless draw to pull through, but they got more than a draw to seal their qualification.
