Real Madrid have reportedly backed out of a deal for Mohamed Salah to the delight of Liverpool, Diario Gol, reports.

The 25-year-old has been in fantastic form this season as the Reds are in pursuit of a sixth Champions League title.

The Egyptian has scored 43 goals in 49 appearances including 10 Champions League strikes and has landed the PFA Player of the Year award.

His performances has led to widespread rumours that the Spanish giants are looking to sign a new world-class attacker in the summer.

Reports have suggested that Florentino Perez is ready to splash the cash on a new dynamic strike-partner with Cristiano Ronaldo.

However the Spanish media outlet claimed that the European champions have cooled their interest in Salah because of his heavy price tag.

The billionaire club have also been linked with a move for Neymar but have experienced similar problems but Diario Gol reckon that a move for Antoine Griezmann could be on the cards.
