Jobberman recently conducted a survey to establish the best 100 companies to work for in Nigeria which focuses on age, gender, experience level, salary, years of employment and job level. To achieve this, Jobberman utilised its 2 million+ database as well as reaching out through email, social media, and partner channels. Most respondents chose three factors from a number of factors that they regard as good traits from an employer. Career progression, benefits aside from salary and job security.
According to the ranking, Andela, UBA and Courteville emerged the top three organisations to work for in the 2018 report. Climbing up the ranks, Andela moved up from its 8th spot in 2017 to occupy the number 1 spot in 2018.
Meanwhile, the banking sector locked down three spots in the top 10 for the second time; with United Bank for Africa, Union Bank and Access Bank taking the 2nd, 4th and 5th spots respectively.
Millennials posed the highest flight risk while the older generation were more likely to stay on the job as they prioritised job security and pay over learning and growth opportunities. Mid to senior level employees were also very eager to seek greener pastures and their most sought out demands were pay and proximity to their place of work.
The report shows that as the years of service increased, so did the likelihood of the employees’ desire to leave.
