David Beckham’s eldest son Brooklyn surprised his father on his 43rd birthday celebration after flying in from his United States base to celebrate with his old man.
The 19-year-old is Beckham’s eldest son and he is currently studying at the prestigious Parsons School of Design in New York.
He however took time out of his busy schedule to rejoice with his dad who turned a year older on Wednesday in London.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and PSG forward couldn’t contain his joy at seeing his son pay him a shocking visit at his celebratory meal.
Brooklyn, who was dressed in simple but classic outfit wore a massive smile as he entered the restaurant and after sighting his dad at the table, he walked up behind him and gave him a warm hug.
“What are you doing here?”, David asked as he continued to hold him close - appearing to not believe the moment was real.
In a different voice from that of David’s but appeared to be that of six-year-old Harper's, she stated: “I didn't know Brooklyn was coming!'
Just before they set out for the celebrant’s celebratory meal, Beckham’s wife, Victoria has posted a short video of their daughter reading her sweet message to her dad to wish him a happy birthday.
David was the subject of many sweet posts from his family, with Victoria taking the lead with a sweet snap of the football ace cosying up to all of their children bar son Brooklyn, who is studying photography in New York.
While posting the picture, she added: “Happy birthday to the best daddy!! X we all love u so much!!! So many kisses from us all, we miss u Brooklyn X.”
Cruz took to Instagram to break his pattern of crooning videos to share a snap of the two enjoying a hug on holiday.
He added a caption reading: 'Happy birthday to the best dad in the world, I love you so much and I hope you have an amazing day'
Model Romeo also took to the photo-sharing site, as he posed with his dad at the present-laden table, while adding the caption: 'Happy birthday to the best dad in the world! I hope you have an amazing day love u'.
Beckham retired active football in 2013 after making 10 appearances for Paris Saint Germain in one season.
Before then, he had featured for Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy at the senior level of his career, winning several domestic and European titles.
He was also on loan at Italian Serie A side, AC Milan between 2009 and 2010 and won 19 titles all together.
The England legend was close to winning the ballon d'Or award in 1999, but could only finish as a runner up.
Beckham won one Champions League title and six Premier Leagues while at United and won league titles with other teams he played for after leaving the Red Devils.
