Arsenal, Chelsea target Man Utd star Eric Bailly

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Arsenal and Chelsea who are said to be monitoring his situation at Old Trafford.

Since the Ivory Coast international arrived from Villarreal in 2016, he has been superb for Manchester United as he helped them to win the Europa League title last season.

But the 24-year-old is currently not enjoying active playing time this season under Jose Mourinho as he last played for United on April 7.

Illness saw him miss the Premier League defeat to West Brom, but Bailly has otherwise lost his place in the team.

Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have been preferred of late, and even flop Victor Lindelof started Sunday’s 2-1 win over Arsenal.

And according to the latest report by ESPN, Chelsea who have lost their Premier League title to Manchester City and Arsenal are interested in signing Eric Bailly.

Both London clubs are expected to bring in defensive reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

Eric Bailly began his professional career at Spain's Espanyol before moving to Villarreal where he spent two seasons at the club before signing for Manchester United in June 2016.

Bailly made his competitive debut on August 7 in a 2–1 win against Leicester City at Wembley Stadium to win the FA Community Shield and was named man of the match.

He made his international debut for the Ivory Coast in 2015 and helped them win that year's Africa Cup of Nations.
