Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo continued his goal scoring form in the Chinese Super League as his club Changhun Yatai defeated Shanghai SIPG by 2-1.
Ighalo scored a brace in the match in Yatai's third win of the campaign and took his tally to seven in the season.
The Super Eagles talisman took advantage from a lose ball as he raced a few yards to beat the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
But Shanghai SIPG FC equalized in the 41st minute through Lei Wu Drew with a simple tap in after a well organized attack from his side.
However, the Nigerian striker scored the winner with a beautiful shot in the 69th minute as they held on to earn maximum points.
Brazilian striker Hulk failed to convert a penalty kick in the 77th minute for Shanghai as they suffered their first defeat of the season.
The win moves Changchun Yatai to seventh on the table with 11 points from eight games courtesy of the sparkling form of their inspirational forward.
The former Watford talisman netted four goals in last weekend's 4-2 win over Guizhou Hengfeng as he keeps himself in shape for the World Cup in the summer.
The 28-year-old scored two goals for Super Eagles on road to Russia and the striker will be a handful for defenders at the Mundial.
Gernot Rohr's side will play in Group D against Croatia, Iceland, and Argentina when the World Cup kicks off proper.
The Green and White will also play pre-World Cup friendlies against Democratic Republic of Congo, England, and the Czech Republic.
