A Nairobi conductor is the talk of town after returning a lost wallet with KSh 30,000 (N108,000) plus other personal documents to the rightful owner, ending a two-week search.
The conductor identified as Daniel Mwaura who worked in Matatu christened Fagal Maggy under Ganaki Sacco (Savings and credit cooperative organization) has wowed the online community with his deed.
This is after Mwaura's story of rare honesty in a city where such cases are unheard of, was shared online by Harrison Mungai.
According to Mungai, the Matatu conductor was on a normal routine on Wednesday, April 11, when he came across the lost item while enroute the Gachie-Nairobi road.
Worried the owner could be in dire need of the money, the straightforward man reported the incident to the Sacco offices at Gachie trading centre.
He then asked the Sacco linesman Joseph Muniu to direct anyone who might be looking for lost documents to him.
Mwaura had said: "If someone ask for lost money plus documents, please direct them to me."
He said he was from Ndumberi within Kiambu county but did not even mention anything to do with the money as he suspected it could have been taken by whoever came across the wallet.
The KSh 30,000 was meant to take care of his sick child's hospital bill. That is the time that Mwaura the conductor who found the items plus the money was connected to Stanley through phone and they correctly verified indeed that the wallet was Stanley's.

As a token of appreciation, Stanley wanted to give Mwaura some money but he turned itdown asking him to sort out the hospital bills first.
