- Ibrahimovic's departure makes De Gea's new deal mouth watering
- The Swede left Manchester United for free in March to join LA Galaxy
- United will to play Chelsea in the FA Cup final next month at Wembley
Manchester United number one David de Gea is ready to put pen in paper on a huge £350,000-a-week contract courtesy of Zlatan Ibrahimovic departure, The Sun reports.
The Spain international will be out of contract at the Theatre of Dreams at the end of next season with Real Madrid's long term interest being a constant worry for United.
Los Blancos have been heavily linked with de Gea for a number of years and almost completed a deal in 2016 but collapsed at the eleventh hour after a £29m fee had been agreed.
However according to the British media outfit the goalkeeper is ready to sign a fresh five-year deal to make him the second highest earner at the club with Alexis Sanchez's mammoth £500,000-a-week overshadowing the rest of the squad.
The 27-year-old's offer is largely down to Jose Mourinho moving Ibrahimovic off his books.
The ex-United striker was on a £350,000-a-week in his debut season at Old Trafford before taking a £225,000 pay cut when he extended his deal for a second season.
Ibrahimovic's departure to join MLS side LA Galaxy for free in March, freed up a chunk of the wage budget, which has made way for the Red Devils to reward de Gea.
The Spanish number one who joined from Atletico Madrid has had a remarkable campaign with the club.
This season de Gea has chalked up 17 clean sheets to help his side climb towards a second placed finish in the Premier League.
De Gea is favourite to claim United's Player of the Season award for the fourth time in seven years at the club.
The Spaniard was in between the sticks when he helped United defeat Tottenham by 2-1 in the first FA Cup semi final tie.
United will be hoping to finish the season on a high when they play rivals Chelsea in the finals next month.
