Barcelona on Saturday night, April 21, produced astonishing performance as they defeated Sevilla 5-0 to win the 2017/18 Copa del Rey title at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.
The match was a total condemnation for Sevilla as Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta scored for Barcelona who are also on the verge of winning the Spanish La Liga title.
Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez scored the first goal for Barcelona in the 14th minute after a wonderful assist from Philippe Coutinho.
Defender Jordi Alba then provided another superb assist for Lionel Messi to score the second goal in the 31st minute.
After scoring the second goal, Lionel Messi delivered a glorious pass for Luis Suarez to score the third goal for Barcelona in the 40th minute.
The first half however ended with Barcelona leading 3-0.
Lionel Messi provided another superb assist for Andres Iniesta to score the fourth goal for Barcelona in the 52nd minute.
Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet handled the ball in the penalty box in the 69th minute in which the referee had no choice than to give Barcelona a penalty.
Philippe Coutinho then stepped forward to score the penalty as Barcelona won the match 5-0.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have now won the Copa del Rey for the fourth consecutive season after winning it in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 making it 30 in total.
Andres Iniesta was massively celebrated at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in what could be his last Copa del Rey final for the Catalan giants.
