Actress Doyle reveals how her skin color almost made her lose her first TV commercial

Beautiful Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle who has won many hearts in Nollywood has shared an inspiring story about herself.

Doyle has revealed that she almost lost a shoot due to her skin color as the producers of the show wanted a more lighter person.

She added as God may have it, the director wasn't someone who was discriminating he supported her and made her feature in the shoot.

Ireti Doyle mentioned that's it's not easy being an upcoming actor as they are many challenges to that, saying one should never back off no matter what they face.

She further added that after all her thrives she is one of the most celebrated actress, saying that things might take a while but it will eventually fall into place.

She wrote: "I shot my 1st tv commercial over two decades ago. It was a major deal for an upcoming actor; for the visibility and the pay check.

I nearly lost that gig for being the wrong skin colour. I didn't match the client rep's "ideal".

Thankfully, the director, Mr. Wale Fanu wasn't a push over. He told the chap to let him do his thing or take him off the project.

Fast forward 20yrs, "Melanin Poppin" has become a # and the dark skinned girl is having her day in the sun.
