- Chelsea tell Dortmund to pay £50m for Mitchy Bashuayi
- The striker is currently on loan with the Bundesliga club
- Batshuayi has scored 9 goals in 14 matches for the Canneries
Chelsea are reportedly demanding £50m from Borussia Dortmund for Michy Batshuayi as the German club are seeking a permanent deal for the in-form forward.
After struggling to make an impact for Chelsea in the first half of the season the Belgium international has been in lightning form for the Canneries scoring 9 in 14 matches since joining Dortmund on loan.
The 24-year-old was brought in as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who left for Arsenal in January.
According to the London Evening Standard the Bundesliga club will have to cough out £50m to make the move permanent.
Batshuayi was dealt a major blow on Monday as the attacker was confirmed he will not play again this season after suffering an ankle ligament injury against Schalke on Sunday.
The former Marseille striker's chances of playing for Belgium has also been under threat as Batshuayi could be doubtful to get back to full fitness for the World Cup.
The Belgian started his professional career in 2011 for Standard Liege scoring 39 times in 97 appearances in three years with the club.
His two-year stint with French outfit Marseille produced 26 goals in 62 matches in two seasons which caught the eye of Italian manager Antonio Conte.
Batshuayi struggled to make Conte's starting XI even after Diego Costa left for Atletico Madrid in the summer as he only managed 7 goals in 32 matches.
