After playing out a 1-1 draw with rivals Manchester City on Friday United had been given a glimmer of survival hope.

However Derby’s win, in addition to Sunderland’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Leicester on Sunday, saw Jose Mourinho’s second string side condemned to Division Two for next season.
