Barcelona have reportedly contacted Sevilla over a possible summer transfer switch of France international, Clement Lenglet.

Despite crashing out of the UEFA Champions League tourney in the quarterfinal stage last week, the Catalans have been impressive in the Spanish League this term having gone 32 topflight games without a defeat.

They are also at the summit of the league table with 82 points – 11 more than Atletico Madrid, who are second on the log with just six games to the wrap of the ongoing season, and with a few more wins, they will be crowned champions.

Lenglet’s current value stands at €30-45 million by Sevilla's board, but they will reluctant to sell the defender at the end of this season.

Vermaelen has one more season on his contract with the Catalan side and he has been tipped with a move away from the club this summer.

However, Lenget joined his current La LIga side in 2016 and has already played 47 league matches in his two seasons with three goals to his credit in his two year reign at the club.

The 22-year-old started his professional career with Nancy in 2013 – one year after playing for their reserved team.

He scored two goals in 77 appearances for the French side in his four year reign before making a switch to Los Rojiblancos in 2017.

Before moving to Spain last year, he won the French Ligue 2 titles with Nancy and also scored two goals in the process.
