In a counter opinion to their claims, Neymar insisted that the five-time ballon d’Or winner urged him to stop crying and step up his game, saying that's the only thing he wanted from him.

Neymar told Altas Horas: "It was at the half-time of a match in 2013.

"He saw that I was crying because I had not made a good first half, he started talking to me.’Be yourself. Play your football and do not be intimidated", he told me.

This season at PSG, he helped Unai Emery’s side to the French Ligue 1 title and Coupe de la Ligue cup, but he's currently in Brazil recuperating from the knee injury he suffered in February.

Despite having a deal with the Parc Des Princes side until the summer of 2022, after joining them from Barcelona in a world record fee of €222 million.
