- Barcelona edge closer to la Liga title after a 2-1 win against Valencia
- Luis Suarez and Samuel Umtiti got the goals for the Catalans
- Blaugrana need two more wins to be called Champions of Spain
Barcelona continued their 32-match unbeaten streak in La Liga as they defeated Valencia by 2-1 at the Nou Camp.
Luis Suarez got the first goal in the 15th minute of the match courtesy of a lovely through ball from Philippe Coutinho.
Valencia could have comeback in the match as opportunities came begging which they failed to convert and Andres Marc Ter Stergen kept the clean sheet for Barca.
Both teams played attacking football but Valencia keeper, Neto, was kept busy by the menacing Catalan forwards.
Barcelona picked up from where they left off in the first half as defender Samuel Umtiti rose highest to head home a Coutino's corner in the 51st minute.
Former Arsenal defender Gabriel was yellow-carded for a reckless tackle on Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele joined Gerard Pique on the caution list.
The match had a nervy ending as Valencia were awarded a penalty as Sergi Roberto committed a foul on Santi Mina in the box.
Daniel Parejo stepped up to take the penalty and was lucky to have scored as the ball slipped through Ter Stegen to give the away side a glimmer of hope.
Enersto Valverde's side held on to earn maximum points as edge closer of being crowned champions of Spain.
