Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo beats Lionel Messi to new UCL award

- Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten his arch rival Lionel Messi to a new Champions League record

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal from the spot kick that sent Los Blancos to the semifinal stage of this year’s UEFA Champions League tournament on Wednesday, April 11.

Unbelievably, the Real Madrid star is the only player to have scored 15 goals in a single season – and he's done it three times.

The 2016 UEFA European Championship winner is also the first player to have scored in 11 consecutive games in the history of the club competition.
