In the latest FIFA ranking released Nigeria Super Eagles have been named the 47th best team in the world by the governing body.
Gernot Rohr's side moved five places up from 52nd to 47th position this is as a result of continuity in the result posted by the Green and White.
The Super Eagles played two friendlies last month against Poland and Serbia as Rohr's men won and lost the two matches respectively.
Victor Moses scored the only goal that gave his side the 1-0 victory against Poland from the penalty spot after the Chelsea palyer was fouled in the 18-yard box.
The match against Serbia at The Hive stadium in London took another turn as the Eagles were humbled by the Serbian national teal by 2-0.
Fulham striker Aleksandre Mitrovic scored a brace to give the eastern Europeans a deserved win following a dominant display against the Nigerians.
However the three-time African champions have moved up the ladder in the latest ranking as the team will be hoping to do more to get better results.
Nigeria will also play pre-world cup friendly matches against Democratic Republic of Congo on May, 28, before playing England and the Czech Republic on June, 2, and 5 respectively.
The Super Eagles have been tagged alongside Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in Group D as it has been regarded as the most difficult group in the tournament.
