Nigeria expected to experience cloudy weather, rain activities on Wednesday, April 11

- Central states of Nigeria will on Wednesday, April 11, experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions

- Makurdi, Lokoja, Ilorin, Bauchi, Jos, Kaduna, Yola and Mambilla Plateau are expected to experience isolated thunderstorms

- The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) predicts southern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy skies

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Wednesday morning.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Tuesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 32 to 38 and 19 to 26 degrees celsius.

It added that increased cloudiness was anticipated over most part of the cities with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Makurdi, Lokoja, Ilorin, Bauchi, Jos, Kaduna, Yola and Mambilla Plateau in the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy to partly cloudy skies with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Calabar, Eket and Yenagoa in the morning.

It also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over most parts of the region such as Akure, Ibadan, Enugu, Oshogbo, Benin, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Eket, Uyo and Yenegoa axis during the afternoon and evening hour.

NiMet further predicted that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 31 to 35 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy skies over the north-western cities and sunny and hazy conditions over the northeast throughout the forecast period.

“Northern States will also have day and night temperatures in the range of 35 to 41 and 22 to 26 degrees celsius.

“With steady influx of moisture into the country, cloudy to partly cloudy conditions are anticipated over central states down to the coastal cities.

“There are prospects of rainfall activities over the southern and central states within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
