- Barcelona are currently prepared to hijack Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham
- The Spanish club could lose Samuel Umtiti to Manchester United
- Barcelona are eight points clear on the table as they prepare to face Malaga
Philippe Coutinho has told teammate Lionel Messi Barcelona should sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham, Diario Gol reports.
The Spanish media outfit also confirmed that Barcelona have already started negotiations to hijack the Belgium international from his suitors.
Barcelona are keen on bringing in fresh legs to their backline, with France international Samuel Umtiti linked with a switch to Old Trafford if he does not get a pay rise.
The north London club have refused to offer the Belgian centre back a new deal and will be available for £25m next summer if no extension is agreed before the end of the season.

Real Madrid and Manchester United have been linked with a move for the 29-year-old, who has been regarded as one of the best centre backs in Europe.
The vastly experienced Alderweireld have had spells with Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Southampton and a move to the Nou Camp will be at an advantage for the Catalan club.
The Catalan giants are currently eight points clear at the top of La Liga with the two Madrid sides trailing in second and third positions respectively.
Ernesto Valverde's side will be in action on Saturday with a trip to Malaga before hosting Chelsea in a crucial Champions League tie next week.
