Kids are around the globe are probably jumping in excitement for the only award show that counts to them. Nickelodeon has released the list of nominees for the 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards that is slated to hold on Saturday, March 24.
This award show is the only event where kids have the opportunity to vote for their best and favourite stars.
Nigerian Afro-pop star, Davido and kid comedienne, Emmanuella were part of the list of nominees. The two Nigerian stars were nominated under the category of favourite African stars.
Other African stars on the list include Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania) Cassper Nyovest, Caster Semenya (South Africa) and Eddy Kenzo (Uganda) and Black Coffee (South Africa).
Alex Okosi, the executive vice president and managing director of Viacom International Media Networks Africa stated that the platform offers an opportunity for African stars to be recognised.
He said: “The Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards offer a platform for African stars to be recognised for their excellence in their various talents including, music, sport and television by kids all over the globe. We are delighted to feature the continent’s highly talented nominees in the Favourite African Stars category where Black Coffee is nominated for the Favourite Global Music Star category alongside international counterparts.”
This win is coming for Davido not long after he broke a record with his hit songs. His hit song, If recently went diamond in sales and Fall received platinum.
WWE Superstar John Cena will be hosting the award which will premiere on Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305) and Nick Toons (DStv channel 308) on Sunday, March 25, at 17:05.
