- Vincent Uba says it is unfortunate that many Nigerians including respected ones are using the herdsmen/farmers crisis to advance selfish gains

A Lagos based businessman, Vincent Uba, has frowned at the reactions of Nigerians to the recent attacks by suspected herdsmen in Benue and some other parts of the country.
In a statement made on Monday, February 19, Uba, a former president of Catholic Brothers’ Forum, said that it was unfortunate that many Nigerians including respected ones were using the crisis to advance selfish gains, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The businessman said that rather than blame President Buhari, it was a time for Nigerians to rally around him and proffer solutions to the security challenges.
“It beats my imagination that different group of persons, different category of persons of both tribal and religious inclination apportion blames Buhari rather than somberly pray for the country and the president and offer him genuine advice," he said.
The former president of CBF insisted that the fact that the alleged perpetrators were of the same ethnicity with the president does not in any way implicate the president.
"In developed and civilized countries like US and UK where brutal shootings and killings regularly occur, the president is not linked to such acts rather they unite and rally round him to find a common solution to the problem," he stated.
