No fewer than 22 persons were killed and 28 others injured in a multiple bombing at a market in Konduga local government area of Borno.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident occurred on Friday night, February 16, when three bombers detonated explosives at the “Kasuwar Kifi” in the outskirts of Konduga town.
A witness, Idrissa Bana, said the three bombers simultaneously detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on their bodies in the crowded market.
Bana said that the explosives killed 22 persons and 28 others sustained injuries, adding that those injured were evacuated to a hospital in Maiduguri.
He said: ''There were a lot of people doing last minute shopping when the bombers hit the market.''

A competent security source confirmed the incident, adding that at the moment the identity of the bombers and exact number of causalities could not be ascertain for now.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the federal government on Tuesday, December 19, made a u-turn on its earlier announcement that it needed $1 billion from the Excess Crude Account to push its fight against Boko Haram terrorists.
The vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, said the money requested by FG is not only for the ongoing counter terrorism war.
Osinbajo speaking at the retreat of secretaries to the government in Abuja said: ''It was on account of the security summit that the governors at the Governors’ Forum subsequently decided that they would vote a certain sum of money, which has become somewhat controversial, the $1bn, to assist the security architecture of the country.''
