- The former governor of Plateau state, Jonah David Jang, had described as false a viral online news reporting him to have said no Hausa or Fulani indigene will rule Nigeria again

- Jang said the report was possibly constructed by his detractors to create confusion

- Clinton Garuba, Jang's media aide stated that the said publication was dated Monday, February 12

Jonah David Jang, the former governor of Plateau state on Wednesday, February 14, has referred to an online media reports quoting him as saying a man of Hausa/Fulani descent will never rule Nigeria again as untrue.

Through his media aide, Clinton Garuba, Jang stated: “The Hausa/Fulani like any ethnic group within Nigeria are qualified as citizens to aspire to hold any elective office including the presidency at any given time”, Daily Trust reports.

A Hausa online news platform report had gone viral that Jang, representing Plateau north in the Senate claimed in church that no Hausa or Fulani will ever rule the country anymore. Garuba said that the post, published on Monday, February 12, came to the senator as a terrible surprise.

He stated that the news was mischievous, adding that it was fabricated with the intention of causing discord between the senator and a section of the country, considering his strong opinion on national issues like open grazing prohibition.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Plateau state government on Wednesday, February 14, announced the reinstatement of 141 teachers disengaged earlier and sacked 747 primary school teachers, Premium Times.

Legit.ng gathered that some of the teachers who lost their jobs are among those who failed to tender the minimum teaching qualification certificates as required by the state’s teaching service commission.
