Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata, has spoken out about life at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho and he reveals that the now Manchester United manager once 'gingered' him so much he "brutally kicked" Diego Costa.
The Spaniard was 17-year-old at the time, was desperate to impress Mourinho so as to force his way into the first team.
Mourinho is a born winner, known for demanding perfection instructed the young Morata to 'fight hard' to make a name for himself.
But it seems the young Morata took his words a little too literally and manifested it when Real Madrid faced rivals Atletico, aiming a kick at his compatriot Costa.
Speaking to Movistar+ recalling his time spent at Madrid with Mourinho, Morata said: "He has character, he took care of the homegrown players.
"He gave me the first big contract with Madrid and he told me: 'If you get it right you will not have to work in your life.'
"I did not focus from the first moment, I was 17 years old and trained to have fun, not to be a Madrid player or to have to support my family.
The Chelsea number 9 added:"Mourinho told me I had to focus on me. He gave me the alternative.
"I played with Nacho in the reserves and he told us that we had to fight hard, that is what he wanted, what he likes.

"Mourinho told the two of us that in the Calderon [against Atletico Madrid] we had to fight. I almost took out Diego Costa, I gave him a brutal kick. Sometimes I remind Costa and we laugh."
