Only difference between APC, PDP is their names - Senator Shehu Sani
- The senator representing Kaduna Central has berated the activities of both the ruling and opposition parties in Nigeria
- Senator Shehu Sani said the ruling All Progressives Congress is a reluctant one
- He also described the Peoples Democratic Party as a timid opposition that has failed to play its role
The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has described the All progressives Congress (APC) as a reluctant party.
Speaking on Thursday, January 18, while delivering a lecture at a programme in Abeokuta, Ogun state, Sani said the APC had contradictions within its fold.
Also describing the Peoples Democratic (PDP) as a timid opposition, Sani said the party has failed to play its roles in the present administration.
He said the only reason PDP was formed was to pursue the military out of power in 1999 while APC aimed at driving the former president Goodluck Jonathan out of power in 2015.

The senator also accused Nigerian leaders of insensitivity towards the ongoing killings in Nigeria.
Sani called for a massive peaceful protest that would awaken the conscience of Nigerian leaders.
“All is not well with this country. This is the wrong time to shed blood in Nigeria. If you think that people in power will stop the problem in the country, you are in for a fool’s ride. The attention of people is how to win elections and not how they can end senseless killings and bloodshed.
“It would require a mass, peaceful march in the streets from Nigerians to recharge the conscience of people in power. Nigerians are dying in hundreds and in thousands and some people felt what is important is INEC timetable, when is elections and when is primaries.

“It is difficult to hear any public office holder speak the truth because of political calculations. Anybody who says we are not in crisis now is deceiving himself.
“We are only differentiated by names. The PDP came into existence because there is a need to have a national party that will take over from the military. The APC came into power to de-establish the PDP and drive Jonathan out of power and in the process, we have all sorts of people.
“When I see some of my colleagues trying to come into our party, I ask them: have you find out how those of us in the party are fairing? Most of you will end up from Syria to Afghanistan. All is not well with this country," he said.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Senator Sani had said that the political class is not giving present killings and kidnappings the attention and action it deserves.
Sani said the political class are more concerned with the 2019 general elections.
He also said that the only way to touch the conscience of the political class is for people to march peacefully against killings and kidnappings.
