LIST: Names of 73 Benue indigenes killed in herdsmen attacks

- Benue state is still in mourning following attacks on two local government areas by suspected herdsmen

- 73 people were killed in the attacks while dozens of people were injured and still in hospital

- The Benue state government has released the names of those killed in the brutal attacks

The Benue state government has released the names of those killed in the recent attacks on two local government areas by suspected herdsmen.

On January 1, Guma and Logo local governments came under siege from the rampaging herdsmen killing 73 people, while dozens of people were injured and still in hospital.

Among those killed was a 4-year old boy; Terkimbi, an eight-months old pregnant woman; Sarah and a 76-year old grand-father; Pa Lortimbir.

Meanwhile, Governor Samuel Ortom has described the victims of the recent attack as fallen heroes of Benue state.

He also revealed that 73 people “does not even include those already buried in their communities.”

“Some of these gallant patriots who survived gun and machete attacks are receiving medical attention,” he added.
