Kaduna parents stage peaceful protest in support of El-Rufai

Kaduna state parents on Friday, January 12, protested in support of Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

The parents stormed Kaduna streets to show support for the governor who has come under several attacks for sacking 22,000 teachers who failed competency test in the state.

The government has come under attacks from groups like the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and political parties like Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The government recently dismissed claims by the PDP that it disengaged more than 36,000 workers without commensurate employment for others.

Alhaji Saidu Adamu, counsellor on information and communication to Governor Nasiru El-Rufai dismissed the claim in an interview on Friday, January 12 in Kaduna.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Kaduna state government announced on Wednesday, January 10, that it has obtained a bench warrant to arrest members of the NLC and NUT protesting violently in the state.

The government accused the two groups of protesting violently and claimed that during a recent protest, members of the NLC and NUT attacked and destroyed the state House of Assembly.
