A woman identified as Heather Mosher who was battling breast cancer has passed away after getting married. The woman who tied the knot to Dave Mosher at the hospital where she was admitted passed away 18 hours later.

The woman is from Connecticut, United States had gone to the hospital after she found a lump in her breast on the day her husband proposed to her. It was gathered that Dave had planned romantic horse and carriage ride proposal.

In an interview with ABC News, 35-year-old Dave Mosher explained that he had planned to propose on a different day but decided to do it after he found out about the cancer.

She said: “I had planned to ask her on Dec. 23, 2016. That morning we had gone to the doctor after she had found a lump on her breast. Now more than ever, I needed for her to know that she’s not going to do this alone.”

The couple became friends after they met at a swing dance group in Hartford, Connecticut. Dave said: “When you’re with your great love … it’s like trying to separate your arm from your body, you can’t do it. You’re connected. She was my girl.”

Heather and Dave started planning their wedding after it was revealed that Heather might not make it. The two were supposed to tie the knot on Saturday, December 30, but they moved it after Heather’s doctor advised them to.

They tied the knot on Friday, December 22, at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford. Heather who was on life support dressed in a white wedding dress, a wig and performed the ceremony as she laid on her bed.

Dave said: “It was just like surreal because I’m supposed to be exchanging vows to her and here I am saying goodbye, some of her last words were her vows.”

Heather’s friend Christina Lee who was moved by the incident shared their story on Love What Matters’ Facebook page. She also said goodbye to her late friend in the post.
