Shake-up hits Nigeria Police Force as 4 states get new CPs

- The Police High Command has effected a shake-up in the force, with the appointment of new police commissioners and the redeployment of others

- The newly-appointed commissioners are CP Mohammed Mustapha, Delta state; CP Murtala Mani, Sokoto state; CP Mawa Bala senchi, Jigawa state and CP Abdullahi Yerima, Adamawa state

- The new appointments come following the approval for some CPs to proceed to NIPSS for the Senior Executive Course

A shake-up has been effected by the Police High Command, which has approved the appointment of new police commissioners and the redeployment of others, Vanguard reports.

The development comes following the approval of some commissioners to proceed to the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, for the Senior Executive Course.

Legit.ng gathers that four states have received new commissioners, and they are: CP Mohammed Mustapha, Delta state; CP Murtala Mani, Sokoto state; CP Mawa Bala senchi, Jigawa state and CP Abdullahi Yerima, Adamawa state.

Those proceeding to NIPSS are the former CP for Delta, Zanna Ibrahim Zanna; the former CP Railways, Adeyemi Oyebade; the former CP for Adamawa, Moses Ambakina Jitoboh; former CPs David Oyebanji Folawiyo, Jonah Jackson Mava and Yunana Babas.

Those redeployed are CP Armament, Istifanus Shettima; CP Federal Intelligence Bureau, Abuja, Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah; CP Counter Terrorist Unit, Abuja, Adeyemi Samuel Ogunjemilusi, and Deputy Commandant, Police Staff College, Jos, CP Haruna Hazi Mshelia.

Also among those redeployed are CP Maritime, Lagos, Sunday Ogbu; CP DFS, force headquarters, Makama Hamisu; CP Budget, Aminu Usman; CP Courses, Police Staff College, Jos, Aminu Kwabe; CP Felix Gani; CP FCID Annex, Lagos, Ibrahim Sabo; CP Border Patrol, Joseph Mukan; CP General Investigation, Abdullahi Yerima.

In a related development, Legit.ng previously reported that the IGP, Ibrahim Idris, appointed Imohimi Edgar as the new commissioner of police in charge of the Lagos state Police Command, following Edgar’s recent promotion by the Police Service Commission. ‎

Imohimi was previously the deputy commissioner of police (Operations), Lagos state police command.

He was said to have been instrumental in ending the activities of the dreaded Badoo cult and militants carrying out kidnappings within Ikorodu and its adjoining communities.
