Days after defecting from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar has arrived Minna, the Niger state capital to visit ex-military president, Ibrahim Babaginda.
Atiku arrived IBB residence about 12:35 pm and was led to the upper chamber of IBB house by Niger state deputy governor Ahmed Mohammad Ketso who earlier received the former vice president who was alao in company of former Niger state governor Dr Babangida Aliyu.
The duo later went into a close-door meeting in one of the ex-President’s rooms in the villa.
Legit.ng had reported that the former head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, had disclosed his position on the upcoming convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the defection of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to the opposition party.
IBB who spoke on the defection of Atiku had previously said: “He is a Nigerian, he is allowed to go to any party and our constitution allows it, so, it is not new and there is nothing wrong for politician to move from one party to another.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that governors on the platform of the PDP have reportedly hatched a plan to stop Ibrahim Babangida and former president, Goodluck Jonathan, from influencing delegates at the party’s convention where its national chairman is to emerge.
