The statement urged members of the public to report such fraudulent groups to the nearest security agency or contact the Nigerian Army Call Centre on 193 using any mobile network.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai, on Tuesday, November 28, decorated 44 newly-promoted major-generals.

The event took place at the conference hall of the Nigerian Army Command Guest House in Maiduguri, Borno state.

In his speech at the event, General Buratai stated that the choice of the venue for the investiture is predicated on the need to boost the morale of troops in Operation Lafiya Dole and for the newly decorated officers to celebrate their elevation with the people of the northeast, “who enjoy normalcy today as a result of the fruit of your service.”

He advised the newly decorated officers to see themselves as key players that will drive the vision of taking the Nigerian Army to the level that will be the envy and pride of other nations.
