Governor Aregbesola blames PDP for his inability to pay Osun workers full salary

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is responsible for his administration’s inability to pay full salaries of workers for the past 26 months.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Adelani Baderinwa, the Osun state commissioner for information in a statement on Thursday, November 9, insisted that the alleged financial recklessness of the past PDP administration had made it challenging to pay the full salaries of workers.

The commissioner pleaded with the council of academic staff unions of Osun state owned tertiary institutions to shelve their plan to embark on strike in 21 days time, The Punch reports.

He said Aregbesola was not happy about the half salary issue and was working to rectify the financial problem.

Baderinwa said: “It is doubtless that the present administration is very committed to welfare of the workers in the state and it has demonstrated it with series of welfare packages for the workers.

"The government wishes to state that the payment of modulated salary is heart- aching and saddening as recently stated by Governor Rauf Aregbesola."

Meanwhile, the Kaduna state government has released several scripts from the Primary 4 competency test which was set for teachers in the state.

Legit.ng notes that this development follows the recent outburst and protest from students over the sack of their teachers after they failed the test.

The state government released the scripts on its Twitter handle, @GovKaduna, and invited Nigerians to make their verdict on the issue.
