The governor of Borno state Kashim Shettima has directed the state's civil service to proceed with the recruitment of 300 unemployed graduates from various field.
Shettima while issuing certificate to 10 youths sponsored for a year course at the National Power Training Institute ordered that the graduates from various fields be employed from 27 local government areas in the state.
He urged the Borno state Head of Service to employ the trainees for posting into different ministries.

The governor said the move was to strengthen the ongoing reconstruction of public infrastructure in the state.
He also ordered that the 10 youths be among the 300 slot approved for the state's civil services commission.

Shettima said the slots became open due to a verification by the state which led to the successful discovery of about ten thousand ghost workers in the service.
He said the Borno state government now spends about N2.2 billion monthly for salaries and emolument as against N2.7 million in 1999.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) called for applications into new positions in the service.
The chairman of the commission Mustapha Sulaiman said all applications should be submitted in a sealed envelope stating the ministry and post being applied for.
