Stop associating Ogoni with Biafra agitation, group warns Asari Dokubo

- Concerned Ogoni sons have warned Asari Dokubo against associating Ogoni with Biafra agitation

- Asari Dokubo had recently said that Ogoni was part of Biafra agitation

- He said that the Ogoni struggle that was pioneered by the late Ken Saro-Wiwa was in no way related to the Biafra agitation

A group of industrious sons of Ogoni land has warned Asari Dokubo against associating Ogoni with Biafra agitation, adding that the Ogoni struggle that was pioneered by the late Ken Saro-Wiwa was in no way related to the Biafra agitation.

In a message sent to Legit.ng, a Facebook user, Master Fred, noted that dividends of democracy which we are all enjoying today in Nigeria is as a result of the OGONI struggle under the foundation of late Paul Timothy Naakue Birabi to the later Ken Saro-Wiwa leader of MOSSOP.

He said: "We the industrious sons of Ogoni land do hereby make known to the general public that we have not been part of that struggle and shall never be party to it.

"We use this time to call on all individuals or groups of persons that have decided to cook up false stories that are capable of sabotaging the good name of the Ogoni people to desist from it, that any further unguided statement directed towards the Ogoni people will be met with high resistance.

"It should be noted that the Ogoni struggle that was pioneered by the late Ken Saro-Wiwa was in no way related to the Biafra agitation.

"The dividends of democracy which we are all enjoying today in Nigeria is as a result of the OGONI struggle under the foundation of late Paul Timothy Naakue Birabi to the later Ken Saro-Wiwa leader of MOSSOP that witnessed a lot of fundamental humans rights violation orchestrated by the Nigerian government on Ogoni land leading to the deaths of Ken Saro-Wiwa and nine others too numerous to mention that sparked off international condemnation and sanctions on the Nigerian state by the United nations ."
