Note that not all of the following named individuals received a certain degree at the University. Some of them dropped out before completing their education there. However, they all began their life paths in this higher educational establishment.
University of Lagos notable alumni:
He is a famous Nigerian journalist. He started his career at the National Concord newspaper. In 1984 he left his job because the owner of the newspaper took advantage of the publishing house for political benefits. Dele Olojede also worked as Newsday’s editor for foreign news. Olojede won a lot of journalist’s awards during his fruitful career. He happens to be the first African-born who got the Pulitzer Prize.
She is a beautiful Nollywood actress as well as a model and singer. On the third of May, she celebrated her 38th birthday. During her career, she managed to win the Africa Movie Academy Award. She was nominated in the category of Best Actress in a Leading Role. This was in 2005.
Since then, she has made an enormous contribution to the Nollywood film industry. As the result, the Nigerian government gave her a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic.
Joy Uche Angela Ogwu
This woman is a respectable person who recently held the post of Foreign Minister of Nigeria. Since 2008 she also served the UN in New York as the Permanent Representative of Nigeria. It was for the second time in the history of Nigeria when a woman occupied such a position. She also published very interesting books. Read more about them online.
He is a 61-year-old politician from Nigeria and former Governor of Ogun State. It can be said that he is the longest serving Governor of this State (from 29 May 2003 till 29 May 2011). Now he is a machine politician of the one of the main parties in Nigeria – PDP (People's Democratic Party). He is also the owner of the daily newspaper – the Nigerian Compass.
Richard Mofe Damijo
He was born in Warri and now he is a successful actor in Nollywood as well as a politician. He was honoured as the “Best Actor in a Leading Role” which happens to be one of the most valuable award he has ever received. This was at the African Movie Academy Award in 2005. A few years later he got the post of Commissioner in Delta State in the area of Culture and Tourism. He is a family man with a wife and five children.

This woman is an amazing Nigerian actress. She is also a singer. For a period of time, Stella worked on the radio. After graduating from the University, she appeared on the TV screens. In 2009 she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Unfortunately, that year wasn’t successful for her. However, in 2012 she did her best and received the Best Actress Award thanks to the film “Two Brides and a Baby.”
Her birthplace is Benin City. At an early stage of her life, she moved to Lagos. After graduating from the University, she worked as a model. Thanks to her impressive acting skills, she was nominated during the Monte Carlo Television Festival in 2010 for Best Actress. Her personal life is also a subject of big interest for the public. Her husband's name is Steven and they have 2 children – Isio Jared and Kesiena Alize.
He is the former Prosecutor General of Nigeria, who originally hails from Kogi State. He also was in charge of the Federal Ministry of Justice. Apart from studying at the University of Lagos he has also obtained Master of Laws at the University of London. As the result, he is licensed to practise law in Nigeria and Britain. Bayo became famous not only in his native country but also abroad.
She is a Nigerian certified public accountant. This woman is one of the founders of Transparency International. She has built a bright career at the World Bank's Africa division and occupied the post there of the Vice-President. She has also filled the position of Federal Minister of Solid Mineral and the Minister of Education.
