Daily Post had reported that Kanu vowed to remain in Kuje prisons with his co-accused persons.

The report added that Kanu rejected the bail because his co-defendants were not allowed bail.

According to the source, who spoke to Daily Post: ‎”I just finished speaking with Kanu. He has vowed to remain at Kuje prisons pending when his co-accused persons are granted bail.

Kanu and three others, David Nwawuisi, Benjamin Madubugwu and Chidiebere Onwudiwe, are facing trial before the court on allegations of treason, among other charges.

Kanu was granted bail on health grounds with 12 conditions attached to the bail by the presiding judge, Binta Nyako.

Although the request for bail was by all four defendants, only Kanu’s bail was approved, with the listed conditions.

But in an interview with Premium Times Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, said the report that his client rejected the bail was all rumours.

“It’s all rumours. Were you not in court?” Mr. Ejiofor asked “How could he have rejected the bail, when he didn’t do that in open court? It’s rumours. Know that now!”

Regarding the bail, Ejiofor said Kanu will meet the conditions within 48 hours but warned that any attempt by government to afterward deny his client bail would be vehemently resisted.

Ejiofor also told Legit.ng: "The terms have been listed as the conditions for the bail which we believe within the next 48 hours will be perfected."

"However, I made it clearly known to the world and everybody who cares to listen that this order of the court must be obeyed.

"Any attempt by the Federal Government to flout this particular court order will be resisted.

"In fact as a matter of fact, it will bring to an end to this trial because we will opt out of the trial and we will not allow him to be tried if the orders are flouted," the lawyer said.

He added that: "The court has also made it clear to everybody that this order must be obeyed."

Ejiofor said the era whereby court orders are flouted by Nigerian government and its agencies are long gone and would not be tolerated by him, his client and the IPOB as a group.

Legit.ng recalls that prior to his arraignment today, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in their hundreds were seen gathered at the court premises.

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state was also at the Federal High Court Abuja to show support for pro-Biafra agitator Nnamdi Kanu.
