EFCC arrests 11 suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin, recovers exotic cars

- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Kwara state has apprehended 11 suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin, the state capital

- The suspects were arrested following a tip-off and surveillance carried out around Agric Estate in the state capital

- The items recovered from the suspects include land purchase documents, three exotic cars, laptops, internet modem, mobile phones and ATM cards

Eleven suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

The anti-graft agency, which made the disclosure in a statement on Wednesday, February 6, said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off and surveillance carried out around Agric Estate in the state capital.

Legit.ng gathers that that land purchase documents, three exotic cars, laptops, internet modem, mobile phones and ATM cards were recovered from the suspects.

The statement read: "The suspects, who were rounded up at about 11pm on February 4, 2019 include, Oluyomi Kadri, Adeseye Ogundele, Olasoji Alabi, Abdullahi Saliu, Abdullahi Ibrahim and Abolarin Kayode.

"Also arrested during the raid, were five ladies, Momoh Aminat, Momoh Nimota, Kelvin Blessing, Sunday Ruth and Oyinlola Awokunle.

"Some of them have already confessed to their involvement in various forms of internet fraud. They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a group of seven internet fraudsters met their Waterloo after operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raided their apartment and arrested them in Ibadan, Oyo state.

According to the statement released on the official Facebook page of the anti-graft agency, the suspects are identified as follows; Ola Sam, Demeji Abiola, Segun Isaac, Oyinloye Jubril, Bamidele Adeboyega, Hassan Afeez and Sanni Muyideen.

They were rounded up at Poly Road and Sanyo area of Ibadan, Oyo state, on February 1 and 4. EFCC stated that their arrest followed action on a series of intelligence report linking them with various forms of internet fraud.
